Hardest Part of Blogging

Choosing a clever food blog title (that isn’t already being used) is one the hardest things I have done (recently). I’m not even sure I love the title I have finally settled on but believe me I had many ideas and even more suggestions that deserve mentioning. At first I thought I would go with a Shakespeare reference because of my undying love for all things Shakespearean; I was going to go with The Taming of the Roux as a tip o’ the hat to The Taming of the Shrew. Perhaps, I thought, this was too obscure of a reference. (And it’s not like it’s my favorite play or anything. I actually don’t really care for the ending.) Then maybe I would do some sort of clever riff on a childhood favorite “This Little Piggy” but that fell flat.

Deciding that clearly I was indecisive, I opened it up to my forum of Facebook friends and got a variety of suggestions, including, but not limited to: The Right Bite, Soufflé and Renée, Whiskin’ Away with Renée, Lord of the Onion Rings, Omnomnoms.com, and of course a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail – the Quest for the Holy Plate. So many choices! More ideas found their way onto my ever growing list of titles – The Girl Who Cried Cake, The Dinner Planner, Eat and Tell… the list goes on.

Truly discouraged, but still procrastinating my actual homework, I turned my music on and eventually Sinatra’s silky voice assailed me with The Lady is Tramp. Which is where this blog receives its title:
She gets too hungry for dinner at eight
She likes the theatre and never comes late
She never bothers with people she hates
That's why the lady is a tramp

The latest I have dinner is usually 6:30 so I felt this was fitting. Dinner is one of my favorite times of the day, so why would I want to wait until 8 o’clock to eat? That’s just too much of a wait!

But PLEASE let me know if you prefer a title I have mentioned and we’ll have a vote.

Essentially, this blog will be an invitation for all to join me on my kitchen adventures exploring all different cuisines, from traditional comfort food to exotic to specific diets. So stick around! I love to share recipes and thoughts :)
